Brief Description

The Joint Programme is an integrated and medium-term strategy towards the acceleration of SDG implementation in Colombia, focusing mainly on helping the Government transition from a monitoring and reporting rationale towards financing for development, including to unleash the potential of the private sector. The established Integrated National Financing Framework (INFF) will operate as an informative tool to identify financial flows towards SDG targets and quality and quantity of resources for gender equality, and help enhance leadership and institutional coherence.

Approach

The programme focuses on two interconnected outcomes which are expected to produce: (a) credible analytical evidence regarding the existing financial framework for financing the SDGs targets in the country to diversify funding mechanisms and increase public and private financial resources towards SDGs, and (b) deliver a national SDG financing strategy focused on establishment of a roadmap to identify integrated financing solutions. With increased stakeholder knowledge and awareness of the distribution of SDG funding, improved funding decisions will be made. The overall results of the JP will be a more transparent, accountable and efficient national SDG architecture in Colombia.
