About the Joint Fund for the Sustainable Development Goals

The Joint SDG Fund is a pooled, inter-institutional mechanism for integrated policy support and strategic financing. The fund aims to be an innovative financing instrument, acting as a catalyst for other resources and serving as a bridge with those who adopt measures and policies to deliver substantive and efficient results in the 2030 Agenda. The role of the Joint SDG Fundis to incite a change in the way development is "done", focusing on policies, investments, financing and alliances that incorporate new ways of thinking.

Thus, the Joint SDG Fund, through its window for Small Island Developing Countries (SIDS), decided to contribute to the construction of the National Care Policy through the “DR Care Communities” project, which is implemented by the United Nations Development System together with the Government. The project is technically led by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), and has the participation of UN Women, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the International Labor Organization (ILO).
