Powering National Food System Transformation Pathways and Delivering Results
As momentum builds toward the second UN Food Systems Summit Stocktake (UNFSS+4) in Addis Ababa, this flagship publication showcases how the UN Joint SDG Fund’s Food Systems Window is helping countries translate national food systems pathways into real-world impact. With $31.6 million invested across 28 countries and 11 UN agencies engaged, the Fund is delivering integrated solutions that advance nutrition, livelihoods, climate resilience, and inclusive governance. Designed in response to national calls for action after the 2021 UN Food Systems Summit, the Food Systems Window serves as a critical vehicle for financing systemic change and scaling transformative joint programmes.
Within just one year, these efforts have reached over 8 million people—including more than 3 million women and 1.3 million smallholder farmers—through innovations such as climate-smart agriculture, social protection linkages, and blended finance models. As UNFSS+4 provides a platform to reflect, renew commitment, and mobilize partnerships, this report offers timely evidence of what works on the ground and how pooled funding, coordinated UN action, and local leadership are reshaping food systems to deliver on the SDGs.
