Brief Description

The joint programme titled 'Strengthening Uganda’s capacity to enable sustainable, equitable, healthy and resilient food systems' aims to enhance Uganda's governance and capacity for food system transformation, promoting inclusivity and improving food security and nutrition outcomes through inter-agency collaboration and capacity strengthening initiatives.

The program strengthens Uganda's capacity for sustainable, equitable, healthy, and resilient food systems, enhancing governance and empowering individuals to contribute effectively. It fosters inter-agency collaboration, develops key policies, and promotes gender-responsive practices, reaching over 100,000 beneficiaries in the long term. The initiative significantly improves food security and nutrition outcomes, advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and enhancing climate resilience.

Expected key results

The JP focuses on strengthening the country's ability to develop and implement inclusive and accountable gender-responsive policies and legal frameworks, promoting a fair and sustainable food system.
