Brief Description

The joint programme titled 'From Seed to Sustainability - Food Systems 4 All' aims to accelerate Serbia’s progress towards food systems transformation by strengthening inter-institutional coordination and adopting nature-positive production methods, thereby addressing multiple Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The programme focuses on transforming food systems in Serbia to enhance sustainability and gender equality, directly addressing SDGs 2, 5, 12, and 15. It strengthens inter-institutional coordination and promotes nature-positive production methods through a gender-sensitive bio-district model. Key actions include capacity building for stakeholders and piloting the bio-district in Kolubara, aiming to reach approximately 36,000 indirect beneficiaries, including 15,000 women. The initiative significantly impacts local economies and enhances climate resilience, contributing to the overall advancement of Sustainable Development Goals.

Expected key results

The JP is designed to strengthen inter-institutional coordination for the implementation of the National Pathway for food systems transformation, and in parallel promote the adoption of an inclusive and gender-sensitive bio-district model, piloting its launch in the Kolubara district, as nature-positive production method for sustainable resource management.
