Brief Description

The joint programme titled 'Partnership to Accelerate SDG Localization in Thailand' aims to enhance awareness and capacities for scaling up SDG localization at provincial and city levels, focusing on climate transition and addressing off-track SDGs through integrated policy and technical assistance.

The program focuses on enhancing climate transition in Thailand by advancing SDG localization through partnerships with 77 Provincial Governors, targeting local climate action challenges, and providing technical solutions. It engages in multi-level consultations to raise awareness and build capacities at provincial and city levels, while implementing waste management initiatives that have already reached 33.4 million rural people. The program also develops local SDG monitoring frameworks and replicable tools for effective reporting, ultimately contributing to improved climate resilience and progress towards Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Expected key results

Multi-level consultations and scaling up government-led campaigns on waste management through the institutionalized partnership with all 77 Provincial Governors.
