Brief Description

The "Resilience to Climate Vulnerability" programme in CAR seeks to enhance energy access and governance by deploying decentralized renewable energy solutions, improving resilience to climate change.

The programme focuses on enhancing the resilience of populations in the Central African Republic (CAR) to climate vulnerability by promoting access to clean energy and improving living conditions. It integrates actions from UNDP and UNICEF to implement decentralized, affordable energy solutions, particularly in rural areas, benefiting approximately 3,000 people. Key achievements include strengthening governance and regulatory frameworks, enhancing technical capacities for energy production, and deploying resilience models that support income-generating activities. The overall impact advances climate resilience and contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by ensuring access to reliable energy and essential services.

Expected key results

Result 1: Governance and regulatory capacities in the electricity and water sub-sectors are strengthened
