Brief Description

The joint programme titled 'Closing disability inclusion gaps in Social Protection and Labor across the life cycle in Indonesia' aims to improve inclusion and labor market outcomes for persons with disabilities in Indonesia by enhancing the delivery and coverage of social protection and labor market services.

The program focuses on enhancing social protection and labor market inclusion for persons with disabilities in Indonesia. It implements various actions, including capacity building for employment services, cost assessments for care, and institutional reviews, aiming to improve access to social protection and employment opportunities. The initiative reaches approximately 19.3 million individuals with disabilities, including over 10.7 million women and 807,641 children, significantly impacting their lives and contributing to the advancement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to social protection and decent work. Overall, it enhances climate resilience and promotes inclusive development.

Expected key results

1) Close lingering knowledge and capacity gaps on factors contributing to disability exclusion in the SP sector; 2) Inform improved disability-sensitive design of existing SP and labour market programmes; 3) Improve labour market outcomes for persons with disabilities.
