It strengthens institutional capacities to develop a comprehensive rural development policy, facilitating labor formalization for small and medium-sized agricultural producers and day laborers. Key actions include creating diagnostic tools for agricultural workers, mapping regulatory frameworks, and developing a tailored agricultural-productive model. The initiative directly benefits 2.4 to 3 million agricultural laborers, addressing their vulnerabilities and promoting gender equity. Overall, it significantly contributes to enhancing climate resilience and advancing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Expected key results
1) a multidimensional diagnosis and characterization of agricultural workers, including expulsion sites, reception sites, gender-disaggregated data, ages, ethnicities, agricultural chains, gaps, and other relevant information to be defined
2) a comprehensive mapping of the existing and past regulatory and programmatic framework for the socioeconomic assistance of agricultural day laborers
3) a comprehensive agricultural-productive development model based on the specificities of the expulsion/reception territories and the value chains linked to agricultural day laborers
4) guidelines for an integrated formalization strategy for small and medium-sized producers as well as agricultural day laborers
