Donor Meeting of the JOINT SDG FUND & COVID-19 MPTF


On November 19th, 2020, UN Resident Coordinator Indonesia held a donor meeting of the 2 Joint Programmes on Social Protection funded by the Joint SDG Fund and COVID-19 MPTF. The purpose of this meeting was to share the progress of implementation of the Joint Programmes (JPs) to donor representatives in Jakarta. The meeting also served the purpose of receiving input from the donor governments of both programmes. 37 participants from RCO, UN Agencies, ADB, World Bank and 7 Embassies and Delegation joined the meeting. The seven embassies and delegation attending the event were: Delegation of the European Union to Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam, Embassy of the Kingdom of Spain, Embassy of Ireland, Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, Royal Danish Embassy, Embassy of New Zealand, Embassy of Switzerland.

During this meeting, the Ambassador of Spain and Ireland highlighted the importance of social protection. Ambassador of Spain, H.E. José María Matres Manso underlined the need to address vulnerable group especially related to the domestic violence, while Ambassador of Ireland, H.E. Olivia Leslie, raised the importance to leave no one behind on social protection. Participating UN Agencies (PUNOs) also shared their views on how both programs have contributed to promote more inclusive and gender responsive social protection response.

On her final speech, Ms. Valerie Julliand, UN Resident Coordinator in Indonesia stated that both programs mark our long and consistent contribution to the Government and people of Indonesia to ensure the existing social protection systems are more shock responsive either from disaster, climate-related and pandemic and to help Indonesia recover differently to achieve the SDGs.
