Saint Lucia, UNICEF partner to provide cash and care support as part of COVID-19 response
CASTRIES, 02 December 2020 – The Government of Saint Lucia and the UNICEF have partnered to provide hygiene and care kits to children with disabilities and their families, as well as children in foster care. Recognizing that access to hygiene items better equips children to protect themselves during the pandemic, the UN children’s agency has made available XCD 34,500 to assist with the provision of these items in support of the government’s COVID-19 response.
Parenting during Pandemic
During COVID-19 pandemic parents of children with disabilities have to act as teachers, therapists and caregivers. UNICEF came to the aid of parents to help them perform their new roles.
