This programme, funded by the Joint SDG Fund, is led by UNDP and co-implemented by UNICEF. It seeks to enhance the alignment between national planning and financing processes for a just energy transition.

The Joint Programme is governed by a Steering Committee, co-chaired by the UN Resident Coordinator and the Ministry of Energy. The committee includes members from UNDP, UNICEF, the Ministry of Economy and Development, the Energy Regulatory Commission, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education, the Asian Development Bank, the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Confederation of Mongolian Trade Unions, the Energy Economic Institute, and the Mongolian Renewables Industries Association.

The programme aims to develop a Just Energy Transition Framework aligned with national and international climate goals.
